Vintage Winterling 'Primavera' #WIG 67 Fine Bavarian Dinnerware & Servingware. Made by Winterling, Marktleuthen, Bavaria, Western Germany. Replacements, Ltd has designated this as Pattern #WIG67. Pattern Description: Pink, Yellow and Blue Flowers, Green Leaves on White Background. Scalloped Edge with Gold Trim. This pattern is discontinued. Condition: Overall Excellent Vintage Previously-owned Condition. Light wear to the gold trim Light shelf wear and light utensil marks may be present. See specific item descriptions and photos as well. Heinrich Winterling was born in Rehau (Bavaria) and was from the same family as the founders of the Gebrüder Winterling O.H.G. in Röslau (Bavaria). Even though the marks used by the Heinrich Winterling G.m.b.H. & Co. K.G. and the Gebrüder Winterling O.H.G. are very similar sometimes (especially after 1950), these were two independent companies. Early on they specialized in coffee and tea sets, giftware, as well as complete dinner sets and had 250 employees in 1913, 400 in 1930 and 600 in 1937. Very little is known about the modern company but it apparently closed for business around 2010. The green printed "Winterling-Markleuthen-Bavaria" maker's mark was used after 1950, and possibly until 1970. Below this mark is "Western Germany" in script which would obviously date these pieces before Germany was reunited in 1990.
