Sascha Brastoff Mid Century Set of “Surf Ballet” Dinnerware in Yellow – 60 pieces We could not resist pulling out our palm tree symbols & tablecloth, & matching them with an incredibly special, brilliant set of Sascha Brastoff “Surf Ballet” dinnerware in yellow, gold & platinum. This is a rare set in real gold & platinum swirled onto a bright yellow porcelain background. We are proud to say that it is in excellent vintage condition. My Mother was a huge fan & friend of Sascha Brastoff -- this marvelously complex artist & designer who lived & worked in southern California during the 40’s to the 60’s. He was extremely prolific in all manners & mediums, but his most famous work is his “Surf Ballet” themed porcelain ceramic dinnerware – swirls of real gold & platinum throughout each piece – of which no 2 pieces are alike. While it is often seen in pink, this yellow color is extremely rare & sought after. As we are coming to the end of our mother’s collection, we will offer place settings for 10 persons to include dinner plates, salad/luncheon plates, soup bowls, & bread butter plates, cups & saucers. As you will see in our photos, his work is exceedingly special. Each piece is signed in gold on the back. It is amazing to behold a table set with his work! If you love Sascha Brastoff’s “Pink Surf Ballet,” we would love for you to have our rarified set in brilliant yellow. · Object: Set of Sascha Brastoff “Surf Ballet” dinnerware in bright yellow; 60 pieces in total. o 10 Dinner plates o 10 luncheon plates o 10 three-legged individual bowls (for soup, salad, dessert, etc.) o 10 bread & butter plates o 10 cups o 10 saucers · Origin: Los Angeles, California. · Material: Pottery · Period: Mid-century. · Condition: Excellent vintage condition – no cracks, chips, etc.
