Pottery & Glass / Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware / Cup & Saucers
This is a very pretty red transferware platter that was
made in England by Royal Staffordshire. It measures approximately 11 ½” x 9 ½” and features the beautiful artwork
of Clarice Cliff, an English ceramic artist that was active from 1922 to 1963. Featured in the center of the platter is an idyllic
lakeside image while the border of the platter is surrounded by a finely
detailed floral motif. Marked on the
base is the company red inkstamp, “Tonquin – Royal Staffordshire – Dinnerware by
Clarice Cliff – Made in England”. Despite a few surface scratches and manufacturing flaws this
English-made platter is in very good condition and would make a lovely addition
to any table setting. Note: Stand not included.
