antique Worcester Porcelain Lord Henry Thynne “variant” pattern scalloped oval deep plate / shallow bowl shown in the photographs. Nothing else included or implied.
It features hand colored (hand painted) insects, flower sprays, European scenery, raised low relief turquoise enamel “jewels” dots, nice gilding, and a beautiful and rich underglaze blue ground around the rim.
Signed with Worcester’s crescent underneath the glaze in cobalt blue (mark used 1755-1790). Original antique 18th Century Worcester porcelain. SIZE
: 10.5 inches (27 cm) long x 8.75 inches (22cm) wide x 1-7/8” (4.75cm) tall at the rim. CONDITION REPORT:
Used. One small underside chip on inside of the foot ring (photographed). No cracks, no restoration or repairs, no excessive use-wear. It has a few visible short and shallow utensil scratches at center, the longest is 1/2 inch (1.27cm). It has normal light rubbing loss on gold gilt trim, mostly to the gold line around edge of rim. Overall, it is a very nicely preserved cabinet display piece of early period Worcester porcelain with minimal wear for its age. A beautifully hand painted pattern.
